Belinda Goosen and her family have been living in Perth for just 12 months but have already embraced our local lifestyle, including training for this year’s Sunshine Beach Run at City Beach.

The Sunshine Beach Run helps raise funds and awareness for SIDS and Kids WA and is proudly supported by HIF for the fourth year running.

Belinda is just one HIF staff member getting ready to put in some miles at her local beach as part of her Sunshine Beach Run training program, and encourages other WA families to support SIDS and Kids WA by joining her at the run on Sunday 21 February.

Belinda, her husband Nick and their two children, aged five and four, have begun training at their local beach in Coogee, WA. “This is a great opportunity for us as a family to spend time together, doing something healthy and enjoying Perth’s amazing weather. And, our participation in this run is in support of such a worthy cause” Belinda said. “We emigrated from South Africa just a year ago and already love the lifestyle here.”

HIF Managing Director Graeme Gibson said “It makes sense to us to support health and wellness activities, particularly to support a cause as worthwhile as awareness for the prevention of SIDS. The HIF team is right behind the work of SIDS and Kids WA in educating and raising awareness levels about SIDS in the community, and in particular supporting families bereaved by the loss of a baby or child through Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death.”

The Sunshine Beach Run will be held at City Beach on Sunday 21 February 2016. Participants can walk or run 1km, 3km or 5km and there will be lots of great prizes to be won on the day, plus the chance to meet local sporting heroes from the West Coast Eagles and the Perth Wildcats.
