Why am I So Tired all the Time?

Dr. Sam Hay

"I’m so tired!" How often do you say this? How often do you hear other people say it? According to Australian GP, Dr. Sam, "Of all the patients I see every week, it seems at least half of them book an appointment because they are tired. Fatigue is one of the most common, yet unexplained complaints GP's are presented with. Part of the reason for its prevalence, is that almost any illness can have tiredness as a symptom. The good news is it's very unlikely that your lack of energy is something sinister. The most likely cause of fatigue is stress - our lives are just too busy." In his latest article for HIF, Dr. Sam offers his expert advice on some of the causes – and how to deal with them.

Despite the benefits of cervical screening, many women don’t attend their appointments, which has previously led to an increase in women getting cervical cancer. According to GP, Dr. Sam " This year we can expect about 1000 Australian women to be diagnosed with cervical cancer, with only 70% expecting to survive beyond five years." With these alarming statistics in mind, we caught up with Dr. Sam to get his advice on everything you need to know about cervical screening. Including how often you should be screened, the future of screening, what’s involved and when a trip to your GP in advance of your screening appointment might be needed.
